Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece was discharged on Monday morning from “G. Gennimatas” General Hospital, where he had been admitted on Sunday after experiencing a mild ischemic episode.
Speaking briefly to journalists upon leaving the hospital, Archbishop Ieronymos said, “All is well, I feel better.”
According to doctors, the Archbishop likely suffered a transient ischemic episode and remains in good overall condition.
The Archbishop had presided earlier on Sunday morning over the multi-hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Athens, which included the ordination of Bishop Ioannis of Skiathos. Shortly afterward, he felt mild fatigue, and doctors recommended he be taken to the hospital for observation.
Throughout the incident, Archbishop Ieronymos remained fully conscious, alert, and communicative, aware of his surroundings and condition.
During his brief stay at the hospital, he underwent medical examinations, and doctors confirmed that he was out of danger. The Archbishop appeared calm and in good spirits, expressing gratitude before returning home to rest.
