Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, accompanied by the Director of Maria Kokkori Foundation, Archim. Nikodimos Farmakis, visited two foundations in Athens this morning.
First, they visited the Spastics Society “Porta Anikti” [“Open Door”]. Archbishop visited the premises and educational establishments, and spoke to the parents and the children.
The Archbishop referred to the dialogue of Jesus Christ with someone who asked him what the meaning of life is.
And the Lord replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself no matter who he is.” These two commands are the meaning of life.
He stressed that “a lot of people during this period want only to buy new clothes, gifts, food or have fun, but there are those people who are wondering what God wants from us. That’s what you do here”.
Then the Archbishop visited the Maria Kokkori Foundation of the Archdiocese of Athens, where he was welcomed by the staff and the children. The Archbishop gave everyone Easter candles and Greek Easter biscuits and wished them Happy Easter.
