During today’s Divine Liturgy, the Head of the Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv, whose name is written in the Diptychs, was commemorated for the first time by Archbishop Ieronymos at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens.
The commemoration of the Metropolitan of Kyiv confirms the recognition of the new Church, as the Church of Greece was the first among all Patriarchates and Autocephalous Churches to recognise it.
Archbishop Ieronymos concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia and Bishop Filotheos of Oreoi, the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod.
