An annual reception on Sunday of Orthodoxy was held on March 18, 2019, at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Greece. Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, Deputy Foreign Minister Markos Bolaris, members of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, and Greek clerics attended the reception.
In his address, Ambassador of Russia to Greece Andrey Maslov referred to the joint contribution of the Orthodox Church of Russia and Greece on the Russian-Greek relations. He was also convinced that there would be new possibilities for promoting inter-church dialogue in the context of the year 2019-2020 dedicated to language and literature of Russia and Greece.
Being sincerely thankful for the warm welcome, the Archbishop gave emphasis on the feelings of love and mutual respect, connecting the Greek and Russian people and the sister churches of Greece and Russia and relying on the solid soil of a common faith and history, according to mospat.ru.
