Today, in the presence of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, there took place the commemoration of the 104th Anniversary of Armenian Genocide at the auditorium of the War Museum of Athens.
The aim of the event is to honor the “Remembrance Day for the Armenian Genocide by Turkey in 1915”.
The journalist Nikos Hatzinikolaou was the guest speaker. Representatives of the Attica Prefect, the President of Greek Parliament and the Government, as well as the Ambassador of Armenia to Greece Fadey Charchoghlyan and the delegate of the Armenian Youth of Greece addressed a welcome speech as well.
After Nikos Hatzinikolaou’s speech, there followed an artistic event by Hamazkayin Armenian Cultural Association and a diction by actress Christina Alexanian.
The commemoration concluded with the laying of wreaths at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.
