A message via a two-minute video posted on social media was addressed to the faithful by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
In his message, he invites believers to stay at home, “for the safety of our neighbors, for the safety of our friends and for the safety of our family.”
It calls on everyone to show responsibility so that the health system is not burdened by being “careless” and to help “heroic doctors and nurses who are already stretched to the limit.”
As he points out, “as we stay at home, we can do a lot. We can pray, we can pray for our world.”
He emphasizes that “as we go through this time of trial, I want you to remember that you are not alone. We are in this together. And together we will overcome this current challenge of the pandemic.”
He promises to stay in contact with the believers through videos and daily messages on social media.
“God’s Grace will be sufficient for us to get through this. And I pray that you may find His Grace within your heart to strengthen you and to give you hope,” he concludes in his message.
I am staying at home like you. As we go through this time of trial, I want you to remember: You are not alone. We are in this together.
