Today, the United States celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the Archdiocese of America remembers his life and legacy.
On this occasion, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America points out in his message that “Today as a Nation we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. and remember our beloved and blessed Archbishop Iakovos, who had the courage to walk side by side with Dr. King for justice and equality! May we follow them both in the ongoing march for righteousness.”
The Archdiocese of America has also shared with its faithful a video with reflections on the Civil Rights Movement and the March on Selma, Alabama, with Martin Luther King Jr. by the late Archbishop Iakovos of North and South America.
