A new firefighting vehicle donated by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to the Penteli Volunteer Fire Brigade was officially blessed during a ceremony marked by joy and gratitude.
The blessing service was officiated by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. Among those in attendance was Metropolitan Ioannis of Thermopylae, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Penteli and Director of the Inter-Orthodox Center of the Church of Greece. Representatives of the Hellenic Fire Service and state authorities were also present, highlighting the importance of the initiative and the spirit of cooperation it reflects.
In a statement published on social media, the Inter-Orthodox Center of the Church of Greece expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America for what it described as a valuable contribution to the local community.
The Center also expressed the hope that the new vehicle will play an important role in the prevention and suppression of wildfires, serving the common good and contributing to the protection of the natural environment.
