Metropolitan Kipriyan of Stara Zagora met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.
The Metropolitan visited the Prime Minister as head of the Committee regarding the settlement of the status of the so-called schismatic “Macedonian” Church.
This Committee was set up at the end of 2017, at the request of the “Macedonian” Church to the Bulgarian Church, to help it be officially recognized.
During the meeting, they determined the way in which the Holy Fire will be delivered from Jerusalem on the Day of Resurrection.
This year, Metropolitan Kipriyan will bring the Holy Fire to Bulgaria from Jerusalem with the governmental aircraft.
For the first time, however, along with the Bulgarian delegation, a Bishop of the so-called “Macedonian” Church will also go to Jerusalem.
Information from Romfea.gr indicates that the so-called “Macedonian” Church filed a request to participate in the ceremony of the Holy Light, while in 2018 they received the Holy Fire from Bulgaria.
