On Sunday, December 15, 2024, a Divine Liturgy with Artoklasia (Blessing of the Bread) was celebrated in commemoration of Saint Hieromartyr Eleutherios, presided over by Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi.
This Divine Liturgy was attended by a group of pilgrims from Greece under the auspices of the Directors of Primary and Secondary Education of Western Thessaloniki, Mrs. Evangelia Moutsou and Mr. Christos Roupidis. The group consisted of 350 educators from all over Greece, 32 students from four high schools of the Municipality of Oreokastro, and members of the choir of the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Oreokastro. The Deputy Mayor of Oreokastro was also present.
Although the Metropolitan returned after midnight from his brief visit to Thessaloniki, he attended the aforementioned Divine Liturgy to honor the visitors for their pious pilgrimage.
