Since 2000, the celebration of Christ’s Nativity in Georgia has taken on an even more festive character, thanks to the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
For years, on January 7, a traditional festive procession known as “Alilo” has been held in Tbilisi and throughout Georgia. This year marked the 25th anniversary of this beloved tradition.
During the procession, donations were collected to support children’s homes, shelters for the elderly, and correctional facilities, ensuring that the joy of Christmas is shared with those in need.
Alilo continues to serve as a vibrant expression of Georgian culture, faith, and compassion, bringing communities together in celebration of Christ’s birth.
