With the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia and under the auspices of the Social Relief Program of the Archdiocesan District of Northcote, priests and volunteers from the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Thomastown, Melbourne, a commendable initiative to support people in need begun during the current lockdown, which is the fifth to be imposed in Victoria.
Specifically, they prepared home-cooked meals and delivered them to the homeless in the city, as reported by vema.com.au.
The Archdiocesan District of Northcote thanked Fr. Georgios Frangos, Fr. Kyriakos Peripetsakis and the volunteers of the initiative and informed them that it is now officially part of the many support programs to those in need in Victoria and will continue over the coming period.
