The memory of Saints Constantine and Helen was celebrated by the Orthodox of Cairo.
Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa presided over the Divine Liturgy at the community church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Cairo.
The service was co-officiated by Metropolitan Nikodimos of Memphis. The Divine Liturgy was attended by the Ambassador of Greece to Cairo Nikolaos Garilidis, the Ambassador of Cyprus Homeros Mavromatis, the Consul of Greece Achilles Bikis, the President of the Greek Community of Cairo Christos Kavalis, the Vice President Michalis Grustein, the General Secretary Chrysanthi Skoufaridou, the Community Commissioner Andreas Roussos, the President of the Greek Community of Port Said Soula Theocharous and the President of the Arabic-speaking Claude Nakas.
In his sermon, the Patriarch spoke about the Apostles Constantine and Helen and stressed that this year in 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, the Cross they were holding in their hands sends a timeless message: “In this, you win”.
“Our victory, my children, will not be with chariots, it will not be with weapons, it will be with the strength of the heart and the tears of the eyes,” the Patriarch of Alexandria added.
