On the ninth day of the repose of Metropolitan Filaret, on March 28, 2026, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over a memorial Divine Liturgy at St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral in the capital.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Metropolitan Dymytriy of Lviv and Sokal, Metropolitan Ilarion of Rivne and Ostroh, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Metropolitan Symeon of Dnipro and Sicheslav, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilsk, Archbishop Volodymyr of Zhytomyr and Polissia, Archbishop Tykhon of Ternopil and Buchach, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, Bishop Fotiy of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol, Bishop Paisiy of Zhytomyr and Ovruch, Bishop Yefrem of Vasylkiv, Bishop Arseniy of Bohuslav, Bishop Avraamiy of Boryspil, the rector Protopresbyter Borys Tabachek, clergy of the cathedral, and numerous invited clergy.
After the reading of the Gospel, His Beatitude offered a special prayer to the Lord for our homeland, which is enduring a time of severe trials and danger.
During the service, prayers were also offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the authorities and the people, for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders of the homeland and civilians who perished during the war, as well as for the late Metropolitan Filaret.
At the conclusion of the service, a memorial service was held at the grave of the late Patriarch, after which Metropolitan Epifaniy addressed those present with a homily.
