The Metropolis of Piraeus showed in practice its support for the all the people who are trying to cope with the obstacles of daily life with enormous difficulties, today, on Friday, April 19.
Through the social and charitable work of the local Church, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus offered around 7,500 “parcels of love” with food and essential items to citizens facing significant problems.
In his welcome speech, the Metropolitan pointed out that these days we are all called to participate in the Passion, Sacrifice, and Love of God for us, emphasizing that “we cannot say that we love God if we do not show our love in practice for our fellow citizens.”
The Director General of the football club “Olympiakos” Christina Tsiligiri offered to Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus a check for EUR 10,000, which will be allocated to the charity work of the local Church.
Mayor of Piraeus Ioannis Bostas was also present, and congratulated the Metropolitan of Piraeus on his charity actions, stressing the strong ties of cooperation in the field of charity between the Municipality of Piraeus and the Metropolis.
