The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania has announced that on Sunday, August 3, 2025, following the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Gjirokastër, a 40-day memorial service will be held in honor of the late Metropolitan Dimitrios of Gjirokastër.
In an official statement shared on social media, the Church specified: “The memorial service will be conducted by Archbishop Ioannis of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania.”
The faithful are warmly invited to participate both in prayer and in person: “All are called to join with their presence and prayers for the repose of the soul of this beloved servant.”
