On Sunday, September 22, 2024, the Serbian Orthodox Parish of St. Stephen, located in Rooty Hill, Sydney, will host the 30th annual Greek-Serbian Orthodox and Cultural Friendship Day. This special event celebrates the deep ties between the Greek and Serbian Orthodox communities, fostering a spirit of unity and cultural exchange.
The event will be attended by notable guests, including the Consuls General of Greece and Serbia in Sydney, Ioannis Mallikourtis and Jakov Rogan, among other representatives of consular authorities.
The day will begin with a Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Church of Saint Stephen, followed by a vibrant music and dance program in the adjacent hall. The program will feature alternating performances from Serbian, Greek, and Bulgarian parish dance groups, showcasing the rich cultural traditions of each community.
Admission is $15, and lunch will be available for those who wish to participate.
