On Holy Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2020, at 5.00 p.m., after the Service of the Small Compline, at the Church of the Saints Constantine and Helen the Holy Sacrament of the Holy Unction was held, as a preparation for the spiritual path toward the Holy Easter, and as an antidote of every illness, especially of that of the COVID-19 plague. The Service was led by Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and six Archbishops co-prayed with Him.
At the end of the sacrament, the Patriarch and the Archbishops were anointed with the blessed oil, and the Archbishops anointed the Hagiotaphite Fathers who came for the Sacrament. Unlike previous years, no pilgrims were present, due to the health safety precautions against the virus.
