A total of 130 children from Ukraine are being hosted free of charge at the summer camp of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, following an agreement between Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.
Accompanied by Protopresbyter Vasileios Lilos and other escorts from Ukraine, the children are taking part in prayers and liturgical services during their stay.
Their program also includes visits to holy pilgrimage sites in Greece, while they have the opportunity to rest and enjoy time in coastal areas.
The young visitors were personally welcomed and blessed by Archbishop Ieronymos, Primate of the Church of Greece, who greeted them during their stay at the Archdiocese’s summer camp.
The initiative reflects the cooperation between the Church of Greece and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, while offering the children a period of spiritual fellowship, recreation and respite away from the difficult circumstances in their homeland.
